WHERE DO CIRCLES MEET?

Sister Stories circles currently run in a number of cities in the UK and USA. They are held in private, calming spaces, ranging from a leader’s’ cosy living room to a gorgeous yoga studio to sitting under the stars round a fire pit.

Please check here for whether there is a circle in your area- we’re unfolding into new areas and communities every day.

HOW MANY PEOPLE ATTEND?

The circles are intimate. Groups are typically between 8 & 12 people, allowing for deep connections to be formed and plenty of space for everyone to share.

HOW LONG IS A GATHERING?

There is no fixed duration to events- sharing our hearts is not facilitated by holding a stopwatch! Each circle is a gentle unfolding and our leaders honour that rhythm. That said, because people have homes and families and lives to get back to, we keep each gathering to between 90 mins and 2 hours.

Sister Stories isn’t just a women’s circle: it’s a community. After your first gathering, you’ll be invited into a private online group where you can connect to women in your area and strengthen your connection to other local women.

HOW DO I JOIN THE COMMUNITY?

WILL THERE BE OTHER PEOPLE LIKE ME?

Honestly? We don’t know! Each circle is unique and this depends entirely on who walks through the door. Experience tells us that Sister Stories attracts a diverse group of women ranging from ages 18 to 70 who are open hearted, inclusive and and ready to connect. We welcome anyone who identifies as female regardless of sexual orientation or biological gender.

I’VE NEVER DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS - I’M NERVOUS!

We hear you! Sister Stories was founded by a nervous sharer, who wanted to create a space in which all voices could be heard, not only the loud ones. The format means there is no pressure to share at all- you could spend the evening simply soaking up the stories of others and that would be completely fine. Some women find they come and don’t speak at all, but return and over time, find confidence in sharing their voice.

Do I have to tell a story?

You absolutely do not have to tell a story. You can simply come and listen. The words shared at events sometimes take the shape of stories, sometimes are simply a feeling or reflection we want to share. Please don’t feel you can’t come if the idea of storytelling feels daunting- ‘stories’ is simply shorthand for coming together to share whatever words arise in the moment.

I can’t afford the price of a ticket- can I come?

It is important to us that Sister Stories events are accessible to all women, regardless of income. Every circle has a space available to someone who does not have the means to buy a ticket. Please contact us directly stating which event you would like to attend and we’ll send you a promo code.
